The Client Coach How to build strong business relationships |
December 19, 2001
Making New Year’s resolutions used to be an exercise I loved to hate. I’d make this great list of wonderful intentions only to forget and fall back into my same old patterns less than a month later. It took me longer than I’d like to admit to uncover the cause for my failure. My list was too long. This year will be different because I’m going to apply the “Law of Threes”.
People remember things best in threes. Two is too few, not enough substance. Four or more and your mind’s out the door. Three is just right. So in your next presentation, hone it down to three major points and no more. Do the same in your correspondence, reports, plans, goals and New Year’s resolutions—anything that you want to make memorable. Think in threes!
