Korsmo Construction

The Center for Innovative Learning and Engagement, or CILE, is a new three-story, 51,000-square-foot hub at the heart of Tacoma Community College.

Designed as a modern space for teaching, learning, and career development, it features flexible classrooms, multimedia labs, faculty offices, and inviting areas for students to gather and collaborate. Programs supported include digital arts, music, business, humanities, and social sciences.

Built to LEED Gold standards, the facility incorporates sustainability features like rooftop solar panels, rain gardens, and climate-adaptive landscaping. Located at the campus’s busiest intersection, the project was completed while classes continued, requiring careful coordination and safety planning. More than a building, CILE fosters creativity, communication, and collaboration—preparing students for success in today’s workplace.
