Bressi Garage - Tom’s Watch Bar

Wilcox Construction

Built in 1923, the Bressi Garage was one of Seattle’s first parking garages. Originally a single-story brick building, it featured wooden trusses and a nail-laminated timber roof — landmarked elements that had to remain intact.

Today, the structure has been transformed into Tom’s Watch Bar, an entertainment and dining venue.

A new second level was added above the original roof, with a design that blends brick and metal panels to preserve its historic charm. The outdoor patio offers views of Climate Pledge Arena, the Space Needle, and Elliott Bay. Redevelopment wasn’t easy, engineers worked around an underground tunnel and upgraded the building for seismic safety. The result? A modern space that honors its history while meeting today’s standards.
