BNBuilders

The most recent example of Stop Work Authority in action at BNBuilders happened when a carpenter demonstrated exceptional awareness and leadership.

While working near an active excavation, Trevor noticed a dirt worker inside a trench beneath a steel plate, with a skid steer operating nearby. Recognizing the risk of the plate shifting from vibration, Trevor immediately called “STOP,” halting all activity. His quick action allowed the worker to exit safely, preventing a potential serious injury.

Leadership responded with full support, conducting a safety stand-down to review the hazard and implement improvements, including stronger communication protocols, exclusion zones and additional spotters. Trevor was publicly recognized and awarded $5,000 for his decisive action.

This event reinforced a powerful message: Stop Work Authority isn’t just a right — it’s a responsibility and a core expectation of BNBuilders’ safety culture.
