Anacortes Ferry Terminal Tollbooth Replacement

IMCO General Construction

IMCO General Construction recently completed transformative upgrades at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal, which serves over two million passengers annually traveling between the San Juan Islands and the mainland.

The team replaced the 50-year-old toll plaza with four modern tollbooths, including one ADA-accessible booth, and added a new support building featuring restrooms and office space. A large canopy now shelters customers and staff, enhancing comfort and safety. The design complements the waterfront, utilizing cedar planks and native landscaping to reflect the region’s character.

Despite supply-chain delays and unexpected challenges, IMCO maintained terminal operations through strategic phasing and close coordination with Washington State Ferries. The result is a safer, more efficient facility that enhances the travel experience for all.
